This year from October through to December as part of my 児童英語course, I continued the tradition of inviting students from Sakuragaoka Elementary School to attend English classes in the English department. One class of 1st year and one class of 2nd year primary school students were taught by eight English department students. The 45 minute classes were held on nine consecutive Tuesday evenings and ended with a Christmas party on the final day. It was pleasing to see how well the student-teachers developed and how much English the children learnt in such a short time. Earlier in the year a most enjoyable Summer College was held during which I ran an active learning English class for primary school children. |
